Sales Team Leader - Employee spotlight
What do you do on a daily basis?
Day to day I organise site visits with existing and potential customers to solve applications, carry out demonstrations of new technology. Plus, I negotiate pricing and organise for quotations to be sent, collect orders and also offer technical support. As a Team Leader I support my team with applications solving and price discussions.
How has your role changed since starting?
The company has had rapid growth and due to this my role has significantly changed. The divisions within KEYENCE have split therefore I now focus my sales and support solely on Sensor and Safety equipment. This is a highly competitive product range and involves high volume activity. Also, we have had brand new releases which has changed the structure to my sales pitch.
How did you learn the technical side of the role?
After accepting my job offer from KEYENCE, I attended an intense 10 week training course. This involved product theory and hands on training given by the technical team. I attended joint sales calls with the sales engineers to see how to solve applications on site. There was a schedule for application solving, demonstration training and I also took part in customer/sales engineer roleplays. The technical side of the role is never ending, we continue to carry out training sessions, self-learning is encouraged and development on technical ability.
How would you describe our working culture?
KEYENCE are an extremely efficient and supportive company. We focus a lot of energy on collaboration and maximising effect with minimum human resources. We have a work force that works hard and stays focused. Our client base knows us to be professional and innovative with solutions.
What is your favourite thing about your role?
I thoroughly enjoy my role within KEYENCE and there are several elements of the job I like, which makes picking a favourite particularly difficult. I enjoy converting customers to using KEYENCE that haven’t used us before. I also enjoy solving the applications and selling the solution.
Any advice to potential applicants
